This prawns recipe
is a must try for seafood lovers who wants to cook a sumptuous seafood
meal in less than 20 minutes. The main ingredient of this prawn recipe
is Lemon Grass, which is a stalky plant with a lemony scent that
provides a zesty lemon flavour and aroma to tantalize your taste buds.
Traditionally, the
use of lemon grass in cooking has also been known to yield numerous
health benefits for treating the following conditions: flus and colds,
fevers, headaches, abdominal pain and other stomach conditions,
arthritis, and fungal infections.

Lemon grass can
be easily found at your local grocery store or Asian market. Usually
lemon grass is sold in groupings of 3-4 stalks. Remember to look for
firm stalks when choosing lemon grass.
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Marinating Time: 3 - 4 hours
Cooking time: 15 minutes.
Here are
the ingredients for 4 servings:
1 kg (2 lb) prawns
3 stalks fresh lemon grass, finely chopped
2 spring onions (green onions), chopped
2 small fresh red chillies, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons finely grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 cup (125 ml, 4 fl oz) coconut milk
Method of
cooking prawns recipe:
1. Wash prawns, leaving shells and heads intact and place in a shallow
glass dish.
2. In a food processor or blender, place lemon grass, spring onions,
chillies, garlic, ginger and shrimp paste and process until smooth.
3. Add sugar and coconut milk and process to combine. Spoon mixture
over prawns, toss to combine, covers and refrigerate for 3 - 4 hours.
4. Preheat barbecue to a high heat. Drain prawns, place on barbecue and
cook, tossing gently, for 3 - 5 minutes until cooked.
Serve this delicious prawn dish with rice or noodles. This dish makes a
great dinner when you are hosting a small gathering at home.
